Cu Chi Tunnel

Off day again! We have 7 free Sundays to spare, so we planned an activity for each of them. This time, we went to Cu Chi Tunnel, the long tunnels which the communist guerrillas (which the guide there kept pronouncing as ‘Gorillas’ .. *snigger* ) had dug using only simple tools and it stretched on for miles. Built in I-don’t-know-which year, during the Vietnamese War to fight against the Americans (yawn!) .. erm the rest of the introduction which the guide gave had been returned back to him.

Anyhow, the whole main thing of this trip was just to crawl in the very same tunnels which the guerrillas did! And period.

One of the entrances to the tunnel! Heh! Do you have any idea how big tiny it was? It’s 50cm x 50 cm ok!! And trust me, humans aren’t as big as we thought to be. A full grown man can fit in – too!

Inside the tunnel
So happened that I was in front, which explains my bigass face. It’s PITCH DARK inside the tunnel and for the 30 metres that we crawled through, I must have ‘Ouched’ at least 30 times. Poor Siewlee got muscle cramps from all that crawling and duck-walking. There – the walk was over in a flash!

The guerrillas are vicious as can be! Every single trap they have, has as many spikes as you have your eyelashes. The later part of the video, you know, the one with the guy sticking his foot into this thing, the spike is supposed to pierce right through the victim’s foot!! Eew!!

Pinda bought baby shoes, more likely foetus shoes, which are made from real tyres. And Samuel said “Buy it for our little PinPin” ……. -_- Haha nah joking, minus the ‘our’, but still disgusting nevertheless, the way he said it.

No link between crocodiles and Cu Chi Tunnel, but still, we found a crocodile inside and it’s real!! Siewlee and I almost got our heads bitten off!! Again, I’m just lying.

Outskirts of Vietnam. Haven’t been this close to nature since god knows when!
Ok that’s it. Half a day spent at Cu Chi Tunnel and what did we learn? Erm. That size does matters because some Americans got captured simply because they were stuck in the tunnels.
